Piano Lessons in Phoenix
Laurie Bird has been teaching the joy of piano playing for over 14 years to students from age 5 through adult. Her methods accommodate a variety learning styles and attention levels with personalized curriculum and group learning opportunities. Students receive achievement recognition and opportunities to showcase their progress.
Laurie began her piano studies at age 8. She studied piano at Brigham Young University with Doug Humphreys, current Chair of the Piano Department at Eastman School of Music. She has also studied with N. Jane Tan, founder of The Well-Prepared Pianist Institute.
She is actively involved in music programs in her church using her talents to assist the church choir, the children's music program, and the women's organization as needed.
Laurie is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Arizona State Music Teachers Association (ASMTA) and of the Phoenix Music Teachers Association (PMTA) which provide opportunities for ongoing teacher training and student performance and evaluations
